Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant

Altru Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Altru Health System, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will implement treatment plans under the direction of a Physical Therapist, support patients in regaining function and independence, and document patient progress accurately. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team in a compassionate, patient-centered environment that values respect, teamwork, and continuous learning. Implement physical therapy treatment plans as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance and functional mobility training to patients Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques Monitor patient responses to treatment and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist Accurately document all treatments, patient progress, and communication in the EMR system Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and use of assistive devices to promote safety and independence Maintain a clean, safe treatment environment and ensure proper use and care of therapy equipment Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and collaborate with the broader care team Engage in ongoing professional development, in-service training, and quality improvement initiatives Therapeutic exercise implementation Gait and balance training Application of physical therapy modalities (e.g., heat, cold, electrical stimulation, ultrasound) Patient transfer and mobility techniques Documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) Home exercise program instruction Basic musculoskeletal and neuromuscular assessment under PT direction Pain management techniques within PTA scope Infection control and safety procedures Interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration Time management in a clinical setting Patient and family education Professional communication with patients and staff Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program Current or eligible Physical Therapist Assistant license in North Dakota Basic Life Support (BLS) certification CPR certification Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems (preferred) #J-18808-Ljbffr Interfaco Ltd
