This position plays an important role in the production, quality control, packaging, inventory management, and fulfillment of chemical reagents used in Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS).Working in a manufacturing environment, the Junior Chemist will ensure products are manufactured in accordance with established quality standards, production schedules, and documentation requirements while supporting inventory accuracy and customer order fulfillment. This position is ideal for an early-career chemist interested in applying scientific knowledge within a production and manufacturing setting.Responsibilities:Junior Chemist Responsibilities Include but not limited to:Perform quality control testing and inspection of incoming raw materials used in Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS) to verify compliance with established specificationsPrepare, manufacture, bottle, package, label, and store laboratory reagents and consumable products according to approved production proceduresExecute production activities in accordance with established manufacturing schedules while maintaining quality and efficiency standardsMaintain accurate production documentation, including batch records, Certificates of Analysis (CoAs), Documentation of Origin (DoOs), and other quality recordsReview, prepare, and fulfill customer reagent orders accurately and within established timelinesSupport inventory management activities including raw material receipt, parts pulling, unit of measure (UOM) verification, batch processing, inventory transactions, and cycle countsMonitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to support uninterrupted manufacturing operationsFollow established laboratory safety procedure, manufacturing protocols, and quality management systemsCollaborate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Customer Support, and Engineering teams to ensure efficient manufacturing protocols, and quality management systemsCollaborate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Customer Support, and Engineering teams to ensure efficient manufacturing operationsAssist with investigations related to quality concerns and support corrective actions as neededIdentify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, workflow efficiency, and product qualitySupport additional production, inventory, or Life Science manufacturing activities as assigned by the Production ManagerQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field requiredStrong academic performance; undergraduate research, laboratory internship or previous manufacturing or R&D experience is preferred but not requiredWorking knowledge of laboratory techniques, chemical handling, and quality control principlesExcellent attention to detail and ability to accurately follow manufacturing procedures and documentation requirementsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a production environmentAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a collaborative manufacturing teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; ERP or inventory management system experience is a plusDemonstrated commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellenceCEM is an equal opportunity employer including veterans and individuals with disabilities. #J-18808-Ljbffr CEM Corporation
