Job Description

Lead multiple projects through the full preconstruction lifecycle, from early design and feasibility studies through final construction documents and bidding.

Develop and oversee conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, value engineering initiatives, comparative cost studies, and pricing strategies to ensure accurate project forecasting.

Manage and coordinate preconstruction activities with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and operations teams to successfully transition projects into construction.

Lead, mentor, and supervise preconstruction managers, assistant managers, and project engineers while driving team performance and development.

Prepare and present estimates, budgets, and strategic recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders, supporting interviews and business development efforts.

Evaluate project designs, building systems, schedules, logistics, and construction documents to identify risks, cost-saving opportunities, and scope gaps before construction begins.

The Successful Applicant

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam, and other Adobe products.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field, preferred

At least (7) years of related commercial construction work experience

Has been the lead preconstruction manager on several projects

Has led others as team leader and has worked to develop and coach others

Strong understanding of building systems, construction drawings and specifications, scheduling (P6), project logistics, geotechnical reports, building codes, LEED requirements, and cost-control opportunities.
