South Main Trucking, an affiliate of Scott Electric Company, has a current opening at our Springfield, OH, branch for a Full-Time CDL Delivery Driver. M-F hours vary 5:00AM-5:00PM (8-hour shifts) + OT

Position Summary

South Main Trucking is seeking a safety-focused and reliable CDL Driver to transport and deliver electrical materials to customer job sites, contractors, and commercial facilities. This role requires a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a strong commitment to customer service, accuracy, and compliance with DOT regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate company vehicles (CDL-required box trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers)
• Transport electrical supplies, conduit, wire reels, panels, and related materials
• Load, secure, and unload freight in accordance with DOT safety standards
• Inspect vehicles before and after each route (DVIR) and report maintenance issues
• Verify orders for accuracy and obtain proper documentation/signatures upon delivery
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries to customer locations
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local DOT regulations
• Assist in warehouse operations as needed (picking, staging, inventory support)
• Maintain professional appearance and represent the company positively at job sites
  

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Valid driver’s license with a minimum of 5 years driving history
• Class B Driver's License or better
• Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
• Experience with flatbeds and load securement preferred
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and handle heavy materials
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Frequent lifting, bending, and climbing in/out of trucks
• Ability to secure loads using straps, chains, and binders
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions

Preferred:

• Forklift operation experience
• Knowledge of electrical products
  

Must submit a background check and drug testing
