Driver Helper RoleThe driver's helper is responsible for assisting the driver in all day-to-day activities. This includes but is not limited to loading and unloading the truck, along with any other duties the driver may need.Essential Functions:Accurately load the daily route onto the truckScan daily route onto the truckAssist driver with navigating to deliveriesAssist driver with carrying freight to a business or residence destinationUtilizing manifest to pull route, stage freight, and assist Drivers to load and unload trucksMaterial handling may include one or more of the following: picking, packing, scanning, kitting (as applicable), counting products and other like dutiesMust ensure timeliness, packaging, and systems work is completed accuratelyIdentifying and annotating overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D)Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jacks, etc.Read and follow detailed and defined instructions in a fast-paced environmentEnsure safe and secure work environment including all TSA and OSHA guidelinesPerform other duties as assignedSkills/Competencies:Ability to read a map and general geographic knowledge of the areaAbility to lift 75 lbs. unassistedMust possess good customer service skillsMust be able to work overtime as neededMust be able to read and comprehend work instructions wellMust have the ability to work well with othersHigh attention to detail requiredMust have the ability to work well with others with little supervisionMust be able to lift 50+lbs. unassistedMust be able to speak, read, and write in EnglishPhysical Requirements:This position requires standing and walking for extended periods. Position requires employees to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands, reach, bend, and lift objects above their heads. Employees must be able to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds and use pallet jacks and forklifts.
