Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shifts | Every other weekend and every other holiday required | Straight nights, rotating shifts, or blocked scheduling available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient-centered care on a combined medical-surgical and progressive care unit serving diagnoses including pneumonia, COPD, CHF, pulmonary embolism, and complex respiratory conditions
• Perform and monitor oxygen therapy, IV medications, non-invasive ventilation, mechanical ventilation , moderate sedation during bronchoscopies, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
• Utilize unit equipment including Epic for documentation, Alaris pumps for IV fluids, and Acudose for medication administration
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including case managers, social workers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, physical therapists, and specialty providers
• Maintain cardiac monitoring and telemetry oversight in accordance with unit protocols
• May be reassigned to Med-Surg float units as needed; travelers are prioritized for reassignment when floating occurs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in South Dakota or a compact state
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Proficiency in BiPAP, CPAP, Heated High Flow, oxygen titration, moderate sedation, telemetry, and medical-surgical patient care
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility; navy blue scrubs required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Specialty nursing certification (e.g., Progressive Care Nursing or Medical-Surgical Nursing)
• Prior experience in an IMC or step-down/progressive care setting
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Experience with mechanical ventilation and complex respiratory patient populations
