Assistant General Manager

Overview The Assistant General Manager reports directly to the General Manager and helps direct and administer all aspects of the operation. This role coordinates and administers the property's policies and procedures as defined by the property's ownership and/or Troon within a fast-paced, hospitality-focused property organization. Experience Required 1-3 years' experience in the golf industry PGA Membership or PGA registered apprentice in good standing Four-year college degree, preferably business related Supervisory, coaching and staff development experience Experience in total golf facility management and demonstrated ability to run a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operation Proficiency in Excel, Access, Word, and POS systems Working knowledge of club accounting Strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business Experience assisting with building player development programs Experience acting as a club liaison to the community Exceptional customer service skills Highly motivated, goal driven, and self-starter Extremely organized, efficient, and detail-oriented Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Highly polished interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with people easily and quickly Ability to exercise good independent judgment in assessing situations and making decisions Essential Responsibilities Manage the office area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications Manage all aspects of the club in the absence of the General Manager Assist in hiring, developing, and supervising key management employees of the property Process customer reservations for guests of the golf course Produce daily reports related to rounds, sales, and other management metrics Assist in coordinating individual, group, and tournament play as directed Work closely with Marshall and Starter to monitor all aspects of play, including starting, pace of play, safety, and course markings Provide customer service to arriving guests to help expedite the check-in process Assist in reconciliation of cash and accounts receivable charges to the daily register at closing Assist in overseeing the care and maintenance of the property's physical assets and facilities Provide assistance in management of the Pro-Shop Maintain positive and productive relationships between the golf facility and its board of directors, golfers, guests, employees, community, government, and industry Assist with sourcing, hiring, developing, training, and motivating a professional service-oriented staff at the discretion of the General Manager Assist the GM in managing staff by conducting staff meetings Ensure standards by implementing course policies and procedures Perform other duties assigned by manager or supervisor #J-18808-Ljbffr Twice
