Assistant Principal
Position Overview: The Assistant Principal serves in the Principal's cabinet which has general stewardship over academics, school culture, and campus operations. More specifically, the Assistant Principal will support the Administration with the planning, organization, and execution of Academic Services, including discipline, athletics, schedules, assessments, special education, Instructional Aides, enrichment, volunteer and parent groups. This includes the supervision, evaluation, and training of all staff. Additionally, the Assistant Principal helps to ensure campus operations run smoothly to support a safe, caring, scholar-centered academic learning environment for all scholars. The Assistant Principal serves the site as a mentor of mentors who communicates proactively with the staff and community. The ideal Assistant Principal is a servant leader who is passionate about and models the mission, vision, and 10 Core Values of John Adams Academy. He or she exhibits this through their leadership, reflection, execution of school culture, and collaboration to ensure scholar success in the Academy's American Classical Leadership Education® model.
Supervision Exercised: The Assistant Principal shares the direction, coordination, and evaluation of site personnel with the Principal and the Academic Deans.
Essential Duties: The Assistant Principal works collaboratively with the Principal on the following areas of stewardship:
- Culture: Articulates a vision for a strong scholar and faculty culture clearly and compellingly. Creates positive faculty culture which supports the development of all staff members as professionals and servant leaders. Nurtures and maintains a safe and caring academic environment that allows scholars to flourish.
