Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant

Assignment Details

• Location: Hartford, Connecticut

• Start Date: As soon as credentialed

• Duration: 6–12 months

• Practice Setting: Inpatient

• Coverage at two hospital locations

Compensation: Orientation - $180hr, Hourly - $180/hr, Holiday - $265/hr, Overtime - $265/hr, Holiday Overtime - $355/hr, Night Call - $445, Holiday Night Call - $665, 24 Hour On Call - $1,260 per 24 hours, Holiday 24 Hour On Call - $1,890 per 24 hours, Call Back - $240/hr, Holiday Call Back - $355/hr.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday

• 8-hour day shifts

• Potential 24-hour call and night/weekend call

• Call schedule and call ratio to be determined

Clinical Details

• Average Patient Volume: 10 patients per day

• Patient Population: Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric

• Level I Trauma Center

• EMR: Epic

• Provider works autonomously

• No supervising physician onsite

• Coverage required at two hospital locations approximately 35 miles apart

Required Duties

• Pre-operative physical exams

• Suture removal

• Diagnose and treat illnesses

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests

• Assist in surgery

• Write prescriptions

• Coordinate patient care

• Inpatient rounding

Required Procedures

• Central venous catheter placement

• Dialysis catheter placement

• Arterial line placement

• Endoscopic retrieval

• **Intra-aortic balloon pump placement is not performed**

Requirements

• NCCPA Board Certified

• Active Connecticut PA license (required at submission)

• Minimum of 1 year of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience

• ACLS and BLS certifications

• Epic experience preferred

• Must be able to perform all required duties and procedures

• Must be able to start by mid-July

• Must be able to cover both hospital locations

• Local providers only

Credentialing

• Expedited start desired with target start by mid-to-late July
