About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid Nursing License Certifications: BLS, Current EFM certification (Intermediate Fetal Monitoring accepted) Must-Have: EFM interpretation, SVEs, IV starts, management of Magnesium Sulfate, ability to titrate drips Description: The role involves working in a Labor and Delivery setting with a focus on providing quality patient care. The unit has 16 labor and delivery rooms. There are 2 operating room suites and 6 triage rooms available. Approximately 1000 births occur each year. Ratios follow professional guidelines. Charge nurse and house supervisor positions are available. Nurse aids and surgical techs support the nursing staff on the unit. OB and neonatologists are available on call. Chronic respiratory equipment, including CPAP, is available. Registered nurses are responsible for reading EFM tracings and monitoring strips. A specific charting system is utilized for maintaining records. There is a requirement for weekend and holiday shifts. On-call duties are scheduled weekly. Unit-specific orientation is included in the onboarding process. The facility has a cancellation policy that allows for shifts to be canceled under specific conditions. This position requires adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
