Assistant, Social Media

The Assistant, Social Media will support day-to-day social media operations across Spencer's, Spirit Halloween, and Spirit Christmas. This role assists in ideation, content creation, community management, and campaign execution to help grow the brand's reputation and engagement across various platforms. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, trend-driven environment.

  • Support day-to-day management of social media channels for Spencer's, Spirit Halloween, and Spirit Christmas, ensuring consistent and timely execution across all three brands
  • Brainstorm, concept, capture, create, and edit engaging organic and paid social content across video, static, carousel, and story formats, following platform best practices and brand guidelines
  • Manage the end-to-end social publishing workflow, including scheduling approved content, maintaining content calendars, managing approvals, and ensuring posts are published accurately and on time
  • Monitor emerging viral, seasonal, cultural, and platform trends and translate relevant opportunities into timely, brand-appropriate content and activations
  • Draft compelling, on-brand social copy that supports campaign goals and drives audience engagement
  • Support community management by fostering conversation, responding to comments and messages, and providing timely, brand-appropriate support to store teams online
  • Assist with social reporting, performance tracking, social listening, data gathering, tagging, content labeling, and monitoring platform updates
  • Support user-generated content and influencer marketing initiatives, including sourcing content, securing permissions, outreach, product coordination, content tracking, and campaign documentation
  • Attend and support photo/video shoots and assist with social media and marketing initiatives, including licensor requirements, giveaways, sweepstakes, and other administrative and operational needs
  • Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to execute projects on time, within scope, and aligned with brand and creative guidelines; proactively identify roadblocks, adjust to shifting priorities, and escalate issues as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field with 12 years of relevant experience
  • Experience managing social media pages and creating/curating digital content across multiple platforms
  • Proficiency with content creation tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Express, and platform-native editors (Instagram Reels, TikTok, etc.)
  • Familiarity with social media management/listening tools such as Emplifi, Meltwater, or Sprinklr preferred
  • Familiarity with retail environments and a fast-paced, high-growth business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple high-volume projects and shifting priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to lift 25+ lbs., reliable transportation for product drop-offs, and willingness to travel up to 25%
Pay Range

$50,000 - $60,000
