The Opportunity
We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Norton Shores region seeking Shipping & Receiving Clerks. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidatesnot just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming raw materials and finished goods.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and creating shipping documents.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and data entry.
- Coordinate with production, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure timely material flow.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse and receiving areas for efficiency and safety.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment safely.
- Identify and report discrepancies or damages in shipments.
Recommended Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1-3 years experience in shipping, receiving, or warehousing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in using various material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift - certification preferred).
- Experience with inventory management systems and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory management.
- Forklift certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
- Proficiency in using barcode scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
