We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Miami, Florida in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role supports core accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, and helping ensure a timely and well-documented month-end close. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, confidence working with financial reports, and the ability to analyze budget-to-actual results with a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities:
• Review journal entries and general ledger activity, making corrections and adjustments as needed to maintain accurate financial records.
• Complete bank reconciliations and account reconciliations, researching discrepancies and resolving outstanding items promptly.
• Prepare and examine financial reports to support the month-end close process and strengthen audit readiness.
• Analyze budget versus actual spending across assigned funds and explain significant variances to support financial oversight.
• Use Sage 300 and advanced Excel functions to organize data, validate balances, and produce reliable accounting schedules.
• Assist with corporate tax and sales tax support activities, including maintaining records needed for filings and compliance.
• Contribute to accurate documentation and reporting processes that support internal controls and accounting consistency.

• Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting role with hands-on general ledger responsibility.

• Strong knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.

• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return support activities.

• Proficiency with Sage 300 or similar accounting software used for day-to-day financial operations.

• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to use formulas for analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.

• Ability to review financial data carefully, identify variances, and maintain a high degree of accuracy.

• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
