About the Role
The Company is in search of an experienced Associate General Counsel to join its legal team. The successful candidate will be a practical, business-oriented lawyer with a strong background in legal, regulatory, and product-related matters, particularly in the areas of insurance, ERISA, and financial services regulation. Key responsibilities for this role include providing day-to-day legal advice, supporting the development and implementation of regulated financial products, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with various teams on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues. The role also involves reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, identifying legal and regulatory risks, and monitoring developments in relevant laws. Applicants must have a J.D. from an accredited law school, be admitted to at least one U.S. state bar in good standing, and have a minimum of 5 years' of relevant legal experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, excellent judgment, and the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business guidance. Experience in insurance product development, regulatory matters, ERISA, benefits, distribution, or insurance transactions is highly valued. The role requires the ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and manage external legal resources efficiently. The candidate should be comfortable in a fast-paced, commercially oriented environment and be prepared to support new business initiatives and strategic partnerships.
