Registered Nurse General Medical-Surgical
Schedule: Weekends: Every other weekend
Assignment Details:
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 (days/nights/weekends)
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- RN licensure: GA or Compact required at time of submission
- Required certification: BLS
- Familiarity with electronic charting systems, specifically Epic, is required
- Comfortable caring for adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients
- Key clinical skills include:
- Med/Surg care, IV start/maintenance, peripheral line care
- Phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draw
- Wound care/Wound VAC, surgical drain management
- Oxygen therapy, oral suctioning, nasal cannula
- PCA management, CBI, chest tube familiarity
- Use of Rapid Response/Code teams; care for renal failure and substance withdrawal patients
Compliance / Notes:
- Orientation: 12 hours (with potential non-billable orientation hours based on contract length)
- All compliance documents are due the Tuesday prior to start
- RTO (requested time off) must be finalized at time of submission, with a maximum of 7 days per contract
- No RTO during orientation week
- Holiday staffing expectations apply: If one major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it; if two major holidays, expected to work both; if three major holidays, expected to work two. Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.
