Lamination Technician (Nights)

Position Overview Grade: 3 Performs elementary and routine mix and lay‑up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surface using various hand tools. Utilizes open mold and vacuum infusion processes. Works with various resins, gelcoats, fiberglass materials, foam, and structural adhesives. Installs wood and other components into fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds. Operates a variety of power tools including saws, drills, grinders, and overhead hoists. Locates parts by hand or by utilizing detailed blueprints, work instructions, tools, and/or fixtures. Sanding of fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds. Essential Functions Perform routine mixing and lay‑up of composite materials using open mold and vacuum infusion processes. Prepare molds and apply fiberglass materials using hand tools in accordance with work instructions and quality standards. Sand, grind, and finish fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds to required specifications. Install wood cores, inserts, and other components into fiberglass hulls, decks, and molded parts. Operate power tools and equipment such as saws, drills, grinders, sanders, overhead hoists, and related tooling safely. Safely operate forklifts and/or tugger vehicles to transport, stage, load, and unload molds, materials, and finished components within the facility. Required Qualifications Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, and reaching; climb on and through stairs, molds, and staging throughout shift. Moderate lifting ability up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work overtime both planned and unplanned. Adhere to all quality standards and new standards as processes evolve. Demonstrate record of dependability and reliability with prior work or professional experience. Work well with team professionals. Understand and follow verbal and written directions. Work in close proximity to co‑workers and in areas with limited space. Work in a fast‑paced, noisy environment across multiple departments. Preferred Qualifications Ability to read and understand blueprints. Skills in forklift, overhead hoist, computer, fiberglass and/or gel‑coat applications. 3+ years of manufacturing experience; marine industry experience highly preferred. Working Conditions May be required to work in a non‑air‑conditioned area. Regularly required to work at heights on platforms, lifting parts and pieces up to 50 lbs. Work in a fast‑paced, noisy environment. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated hiring range for this position is $20.50 to $23.18 per hour. Pay will vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, business needs, and location.
