Senior Accountant

About the Role: As a Senior Accountant, you will own key components of the general ledger and close process, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data. You will play a central role in month-end and year-end close, financial statement preparation, and variance analysis. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, you will help drive process improvements, support audits, and contribute to scalable accounting practices. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review complex journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with GAAP. Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, promptly resolving discrepancies and issues. Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, reclasses, and account analyses. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Analyze account activity, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations to management. Support internal and external audit requests, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and controls. Assist with process improvements and accounting projects to enhance efficiency and scalability. Partner with departments across the organisation to gather financial data, clarify transactions, and support operational initiatives. Key Requirements: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or multi‑entity environment. Strong month-end close experience, including journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliations. Solid understanding of US GAAP and internal control concepts. Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis. Proven experience working with cross‑functional teams and supporting multiple stakeholders. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify issues. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Experience using NetSuite or other cloud‑based ERP systems. Multi‑location or multi‑entity accounting experience. Background in retail, hospitality, entertainment, restaurant, service, or PE‑backed organisations. Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and system enhancements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred. Additional certifications in accounting or financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Excel) are a plus.
