Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Acute Care

Occupational Therapist

Schedule: Days, 8 hours, M-F. Times are flexible as long as consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation.

Assignment Details: Contract Length: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Requirements:

• 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience (Required)
• Long-term care or rehabilitation experience (Required)
• Current Occupational Therapy license (Required)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and ADL physical functioning disorders, developing appropriate plans of care.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Provide medically necessary treatment interventions in alignment with regulatory and clinical standards.
• Administer rehabilitative procedures, including ADL retraining and therapeutic exercises.
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatments in clinical records.
• Consult with patients and families regarding physical disorders and provide education as needed.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records per company policy.
• Participate in patient care conferences and required training as needed.

Compliance / Notes: Adhere to NBCOT/AOTA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.
