Job Description Under the direction of the Research and Development Environment, Health, and Safety (R&D EHS) management, this individual will provide guidance on R&D matters and training to employees and contractors in AbbVieSouth SanFranciscoR&D. The individual will communicate and collaborate with local EHS team members and stakeholders to implement and align programs and R&D EHS policies which drive change and build a positive safety culture at our site. This position is responsible for helping the local R&D EHS team with ensuring safety of the employees, assuring a safe working environment, protecting the environment and the property, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the team with regulatory inspections conducted by local agencies. Responsibilities Develop, implement, andmaintain EHS programs, procedures, andtrainingsite personnel. Provide subject matter expertise inchemical safety, biosafety, waste management,ergonomics,and other site safety programs and initiatives as assigned. Serve as a technical resourceinCriticalSafeWork programs,providing contractor safety and Critical Safe Work support for major and minorconstructionand renovation projectsand lab moves. Investigate near misses and incidents; identifying root causes and recommended corrective actions. Track and analyze EHS metrics to determine trends to drive continuous improvement. Support EHS regulatory inspections and internal audits, including follow-up on findings andcorrective actions. Work with R&D training coordinators to update training content in oure-Learning System, Lead EHS risk assessments of site/lab processes and equipment (e.g. machine guarding survey, office ergonomic evaluation)and collaborate with stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies. Leadlaboratory Gemba walks with site leadership, document findings, action items and prepare and distribute related summary reports. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (EHS related, Engineering, chemistry) plus 5+ years of EHS related experience or Master’s Degree (EHS related, Engineering, chemistry) plus 3 years of EHS related experience. EHS professional certification ispreferred butnot required. Working experience in implementing EHS regulations, conducting incident investigations, and managing cross-functional teams. Ability to establish measurable project goals and implementation plans, balance conflicting work demands, and develop action plans. Ability to develop standards and/or policies that meet business objectives. Ability to actively listen, build, and maintain effective working relationships with internal/ external colleagues and stakeholders, and resolve conflict constructively. Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety programs and Cal/OSHA, DTSC, BAAQMD and EPA regulations Additional Information The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Companybelieves ingood faith it will pay for this roleat thetimeofthis posting based on the job grade for this position.Individualcompensation paid within this range will depend on manyfactors including geographiclocation,andwemay ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
