Tax SupervisorPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor to lead our tax engagement team and ensure accurate, timely delivery of federal and state tax compliance and consulting services. The Tax Supervisor will oversee preparation and review of tax returns, mentor staff, manage client relationships, and maintain quality control and compliance with current tax laws and firm standards. This role is hands-on with tax technical work while also providing leadership to improve processes and support business development.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and manage day-to-day tax engagement workflow, ensuring timely completion of individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns.Review and approve tax returns and related workpapers for accuracy, compliance, and optimal tax outcomes.Train, mentor, and evaluate tax staff; delegate tasks and monitor performance to develop team capabilities.Coordinate client communications, conduct tax planning meetings, and present results and recommendations to clients and engagement partners.Implement and enforce quality control procedures and firm policies for tax preparation and review.Manage project timelines and resources to meet busy season demands and client deadlines.Assist with process improvements, adoption of tax software/tools, and automation opportunities to increase efficiency.QualificationsProven experience as a Tax Supervisor (required) with a minimum of 3-5 years in public accounting and at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters in Taxation or relevant advanced degree is a plus.Licensed CPA or EA (preferred but not required).Demonstrated expertise in tax return preparation and review for individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary returns (Prep and Review experience desirable).Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, and experience conducting tax research.Proficiency with tax software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSystem fx, Drake, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
