Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness in a high-volume emergency department setting.
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with state practice standards and organizational policies, including management of critical care drips such as insulin, sedation, and inotropic agents.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, EMS, outside agencies, and support staff.
• Apply emergency nursing practice across the lifespan, including triage and prioritization, stabilization, resuscitation, trauma care, pediatric care, and crisis intervention.
• Manage and operate clinical equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitoring systems, bladder scanners, portable suction, and oxygen delivery systems ranging from nasal cannula to BiPAP.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and model core safety behaviors to eliminate preventable harm and ensure a safe care environment.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of practice or valid compact license.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3+ years preferred.
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
• Active ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required.
• Dysrhythmia exam completion required prior to assignment start.
• Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility (locals not accepted).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification preferred.
• Ultrasound-guided IV placement training preferred.
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system preferred.
• Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care nursing experience strongly preferred.
