Infusion Nurse

Location: Ventura, CA area. Schedule: Weekdays, Weeknights, Weekends – No holidays. Responsibilities Insert, monitor, and remove intravenous cannulas, administering medications, blood products, and nutrition as prescribed. Monitor patients for adverse reactions during IV therapy, ensuring tubing, bandages, and needles remain secure. Perform venous phlebotomy as needed to check blood levels. Obtain vital signs, complete physical assessments and review of systems, and document all patient-related activities and medication administrations. Coordinate staffing services with Company Directors, Nursing Coordinator, and Director of Nursing, ensuring timely scheduling of visits. Communicate with patients to identify problems and develop solutions related to their treatment. Convey patient documentation to internal and third‑party staff, including scheduling and other pertinent information. Plan, organize, schedule, and coordinate the delivery of patient care by all staff, including complete documentation of nursing care and submission of nursing notes. Utilize nursing process to schedule visits in accordance with prescriptions and established protocols. Confirm scheduled visits with patients and nursing agencies, and ensure schedules are sent to the team via email. Enter therapy administration reports and review nurses’ notes for accuracy and completeness, documenting drug dosing and administration time. Maintain continuous communication with families, supervisors, field personnel, and agencies regarding patient needs. Report problems and situations to the referring MD and MD office administrator, and to LUX Infusion nursing as appropriate. Provide professional nursing care, including care planning with other disciplines and psychosocial, physical care based on patient needs. Teach patients and caregivers the proper care of IV or PICC lines and home infusion administration. Prepare clinical records, care plans, and progress notes for each patient. Coordinate patient visit schedules and phone appointments; drive to patient homes as needed. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of residence and a minimum of two years nursing experience. IV certification and experience in central line care and management. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to patient homes and other healthcare facilities. Experience with medical terminology, home care, critical care, emergency nursing, AIC, or hospital discharge planning. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong organizational, scheduling, and staff coordination skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop caring relationships with patients. Knowledge of medical‑surgical, phlebotomy, and venous access procedures. Ability to work independently and under high‑stress, critical‑situations, with flexibility for extra hours. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field. Licensed CPR certification. Prior staffing experience in a clinical setting. Pay Rate $55 — $65 USD Physical Demands Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, speak, lift up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity for close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus required. Other Requirements Annual participation in required legal and ethical compliance training.
