Step into a vital role supporting student success as a Special Education Teacher in a contract position serving both middle and high school students. This opportunity calls for an experienced educator passionate about inclusion and resource support, providing direct services in a dynamic, in-person classroom environment. The assignment is located in a welcoming community with a 35-hour workweek, beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 4th, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Current North Carolina Teaching License with certification appropriate for middle and/or high school levels.
• Demonstrated experience in special education settings, especially inclusion or resource models.
• Understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning needs.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with teams, families, and service providers.
• Excellent communication, organization, and adaptability for managing a split school assignment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with varying needs in an inclusion/resource setting across both a middle and a high school.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure compliance and student growth.
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, administrators, and related service staff.
• Use a variety of teaching methods and data-driven strategies to foster academic and behavioral achievement.
• Document progress and maintain accurate records according to federal, state, and district requirements.
• Serve as an advocate for students and provide ongoing communication with families.
