Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Job Overview Maintenance Mechanic – responsible for preventing and repairing machinery and equipment in a food manufacturing plant. Responsibilities Perform daily preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on equipment to keep operations running smoothly. Maintain production lines in top mechanical condition to minimize downtime. Set up, inspect, and test machinery to ensure proper operation. Diagnose and resolve mechanical problems quickly, often in collaboration with supervisors. Dismantle, repair, and replace faulty parts to restore equipment to full functionality. Clean, lubricate, and maintain key machinery components such as bearings, gears, and shafts. Assist production and quality teams with troubleshooting or repairs as needed. Help maintain the physical structure of the plant, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized environment. Follow all company safety protocols, including LOCKOUT/TAGOUT procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Qualifications High school diploma or GED with 1+ years of related experience in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing; or 4 years’ direct experience in the same field. Vocational or technical diploma, or associate degree in maintenance (preferred). Ability to work effectively in a team and interact with all levels of personnel and contractors. Capability to operate a forklift, genie lift, scissor lift, or other powered industrial trucks. Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to read and execute work orders, write daily reports, and interpret equipment manuals. Compensation & Benefits Competitive starting pay $27.75‑$37.75 per hour. $1.00 per hour shift differential for second or third shift. Sign‑on bonus (if applicable).
