The Personal & Commercial Lines Account Manager at Grimes Insurance Group is responsible for maintaining solid customer relationships by handling personal and commercial lines insurance coverage inquiries and concerns with speed and professionalism through daily interaction with customers, insurance carriers, and fellow employees while conducting specific service and marketing activities. This role requires the ability to handle both insurance servicing and sales.

Key Role Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Manage and service personal and commercial insurance accounts while serving as a primary point of contact for clients regarding policy questions, coverage needs, renewals, claims, billing, endorsements, and account changes
\n
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, exceptional customer service, and consultative insurance guidance
\n
• Work with prospects and clients to evaluate insurance needs, gather underwriting information, research coverage options, present recommendations, quote and bind new business, and coordinate policy transitions
\n
• Conduct policy reviews to identify coverage gaps, revise liability limits, evaluate replacement costs, and uncover account rounding and cross-selling opportunities
\n
• Process renewals, policy changes, cancellations, audits, endorsements, and account updates while ensuring accuracy and compliance with carrier requirements
\n
• Collaborate with insurance carriers to negotiate solutions, resolve service issues, facilitate policy corrections, and support claims-related inquiries
\n
• Take ownership of complex client concerns by identifying root causes, recommending solutions, and following through to resolution
\n
• Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, policy activity, and account information within the agency management system
\n
• Continuously develop expertise in insurance products, coverages, underwriting guidelines, industry regulations, and emerging market trends
\n
• Partner with agency leadership and team members to support operational excellence, share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and contribute to overall agency growth and client retention

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Hold an active North Carolina Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance license (or ability to obtain)
\n
• Minimum of two years personal and commercial lines insurance account management experience
\n
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
\n
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance products and usages, rating procedures, underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and write assigned clients and prospects
\n
• Demonstrate strong customer focus and an excellent phone manner
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and possess excellent math and reading skills to accurately perform simple calculations
\n
• Ability and tact to handle difficult customer phone calls and solve complex problems without direct supervision
\n
• Have a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
\n
• Technology and Computer proficiency including agency management systems
\n
• Active North Carolina Life insurance license preferred but not required
\n

Compensation

• $55,000-$70,000 base DOE
\n
