We work through a network of retail brokers who share our commitment to long-term partnerships built on a strong service proposition.**Location:** This position will be based out of our **Irvine, CA, Los Angeles, CA or San Francisco, CA** office. We strive for collaboration, which is why we offer a work environment where our employees thrive and develop long-lasting careers.**Our business, your impact, our opportunity:****What you’ll be doing:*** Evaluate Underwriting Risks: Drive submission activity and determine risk acceptability using company guidelines.* Demonstrate Technical Expertise: Apply deep product knowledge across multiple Middle Market P&C insurance lines.* Execute Strategic Pricing: Price risks accurately using sophisticated financial models and diverse structures.* Maintain Underwriting Discipline: Use specialized tools to ensure thorough account reviews and complete documentation.* Analyze Market Trends: Monitor state regulations, territory issues, and underwriting data to drive results.* Cultivate Broker Relationships: Build strong connections through active marketing, client meetings, and regional travel.**What you’ll bring:*** Minimum 1-2 years of underwriting experience.* Experience producing and underwriting accounts of all sizes with major brokerage houses, agents, and specialty retailers.* Team player with grit, and collaborative by nature* Bachelor’s Degree preferred.**Salary Range:** $65,000 - $125,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.At Sompo, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
