Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room Job Summary Delivers specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures such as CABG, valve repair/replacement, and other open-heart surgeries. Functions as scrub and/or circulating nurse within the cardiovascular operating room, working closely with the surgical team to ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative period. Education & Experience Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required) Minimum 2 years of OR or cardiovascular surgical nursing experience (Preferred) Licenses & Certifications Current RN license in state of practice (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required) CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification (Preferred) Key Responsibilities Prepares the cardiovascular operating room, including specialized equipment such as bypass and perfusion support systems. Functions as scrub or circulating nurse during open-heart and other cardiovascular surgical procedures. Maintains sterile field and ensures accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts. Anticipates surgeon needs and responds promptly to changes in patient status during surgery. Coordinates with perfusionists, anesthesia, and surgical team to support safe cardiopulmonary bypass and recovery.
