About the Job The practice of radiography is performed by a segment of health care professionals responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. A multimodality technologist performs radiographic and CT scan procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner. What You’ll Do Maintain a working knowledge of all radiographic and CT scan equipment within the department. Prepare and position patients for CT and X‑Ray procedures according to the procedure manual. Adjust technical factors in proportion to patient and body part being examined while minimizing radiation. Prepare and/or administer contrast media, i.e., orally, IV, rectally. Check patient charts for lab results and allergies prior to the administration of IV contrast. Provide radiation protection to patient, staff, and self according to prescribed safety standards. Who You Are Graduate of an accredited educational program in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine technology. Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy certification. ARRT (CT) certification, required within 24 months of hire. ARRT (Rad Tech) certification. Ability to obtain BLS qualification during the orientation period and maintain it during employment.
