Title: Med Surg RN

Sign On Bonus: $15,000

The Med Surg Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive nursing care to adult patients primarily within medical-surgical and orthopedic surgery settings. Working closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, this role supports optimal patient outcomes through effective care planning, patient education, and clinical expertise. Nurses manage a patient load of 1:5 during day or night shifts and engage in professional development opportunities including structured training and career advancement pathways.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care tailored to adult medical-surgical populations
• Administer medications accurately and monitor patient responses
• Regularly monitor and document vital signs
• Perform wound care and comprehensive patient assessments
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain thorough, timely documentation in Electronic Health Records (Epic and other systems)
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Educate patients on care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Respond promptly to emergencies and apply infection control protocols
• Plan and coordinate patient discharge processes

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in medical-surgical nursing
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in patient assessment and Intravenous (IV) therapy
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Skilled in medication administration and critical thinking
• Strong communication, time management, and team collaboration abilities
