Entry Level Law Firm Billing Clerk

Legal Billing & Accounting Clerk
Our client, a growing Downtown Houston area law firm, is looking to hire an entry level Legal Billing & Accounting Clerk to join their team. This position is in the office Monday - Friday. This position requires 2 or more years of college education and the desire to have a career in a law firm setting handling billing/electronic legal billing/e-billing. Software proficiency in Word and Excel. Exposure to legal accounting software or software used by a similar service industry is a plus.
Ideal candidate will be expected to learn and perform all task accurately.
Duties include:
- Conflict of interest checks in the database, open new client and matters in the time/billing system
- Process changes to client and matter maintenance
- Perform full cycle billing process
- Electronic billing
- Process time and costs changes related to unbilled time and
- Process daily disbursements from firm held accounts
- Daily Deposits and applications for Firm accounts
- Maintain and monitor Accounts Receivables
- Serve as backup to all other positions and duties within the firm, as needed
