Here is what your day may consist of:

• Intravenous catheter placement and venipuncture
• Administer drugs (IV, SQ, Oral)
• Perform radiographs
• Assisting doctors with patient care, including obtaining blood and laboratory samples, patient restraint, and client education and communication
• Provide care to hospitalized patients and discharging patients after care is complete
• Conducting dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
• Surgical preparation, monitoring, assisting and recovering patients
• Collaborating in a team environment

Here is what you will bring to the position:

• Two years of previous veterinary technician experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience assisting in surgery
• Ability to lift 50+lbs
• 1 weekend day required (+$2 shift differential)

Metro Paws Animal Hospital is a collaboration between three veterinary hospitals in the Dallas Metro area. Our locations are full-service, offering many additional services for dogs and cats in addition to wellness care and immunizations, boarding, dermatology, radiology, surgery, dentistry, and heartworm treatment. In 2006, Metro Paws Animal Hospital - Skillman was founded by Drs. Jennifer Lavender and Kathryn Sarpong to offer Dallas residents personalized veterinary care for their dogs and cats. To better serve our clientele, a second location Metro Paws Animal - Oak Cliff was built in July 2012. Finally, Metro Paws Animal Hospital - White Rock, which opened in January 2016. Our three locations offer general practice and holistic care approaches. We provide our teams with the tools and training necessary to feel confident in the job they do.
