Commercial Supply Chain SpecialistThe Commercial Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for straightforward administrative activities within Commercial Supply Chain; activities typically consist of well-defined support tasks that are performed under moderate supervision.This is a 12 month contract, with chance to extend.Hybrid role. Requires 3 days on site in Boston.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Provides logistics support including coordination and prioritization of planned shipments as well as shipment tracking and troubleshooting distribution related issuesCoordinates with external contract manufacturing partners for the collection and review of inventory reports for Vertex materials.Prepares Vertex inventory summaries as requiredSupports senior Supply Chain and Quality staff with conducting transactions for material creation, movement and use in Vertex's material management software systemConfirms completion and tracking of supply chain supply-related documentationAssists with issues affecting the development of production and inventory plansAssists with the development and maintenance of relationships with third-party suppliersResponsible for handling accountability and destruction of rejected, returned or unusable materialsAssists senior Supply Chain and Finance staff with tracking supply chain activities and contractsSupports the maintenance of the Supply Chain Map programWorks with other groups (such as Quality, Tech Ops, Regulatory, suppliers, etc.) to resolve issues that may block the timely flow of materials or projectsKnowledge and Skills:Displays ability to multi-task and, with guidance, prioritize assigned work in a fast paced environmentPossesses strong organization skillsPossesses ability to manage own work load and contribute effectively in a team settingDetail oriented with a focus on accuracy and timelinessGood written and verbal communication skills to exchange relevant informationExperience in the pharmaceutical industryEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)Typically requires 2-4 years of work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience$36-$40/HR
