The Employment Development Department, Tax Branch, Field Audit and Compliance Division is looking for an experienced, enterprising and adaptable person to fill a Tax Administrator (TA) I vacancy over the Bay Area Audit Office's, Technical Audit & Outreach Group. This is a great opportunity to rotate or take the next step in your State career. EDD's Tax Branch is one of the largest tax collection agencies in the nation! We are committed to providing excellent service to California employers and benefit claimants and to increasing voluntary compliance with payroll tax laws. The Technical Audit and Outreach Group (TAOG) is a vital part of the Area Audit Office and is engaged in conducting educational and outreach events, responding to petitions and hearings, and performing audits and reviews. Under the general direction of the Tax Administrator (TA) II, the TA I will supervise, plan, organize, and direct the efforts of the staff in the Bay Area Audit Office's, TAOG. In addition, the incumbent will provide leadership over the group's customer service activities, provide general audit support to the Area Audit Office audit crews, and assist with audit lead development. This position is headquartered in Oakland, CA and may be eligible for limited telework. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee. Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
