The NYS Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority), the foremost Winter

Olympic legacy organization, is seeking a motivated professional to act as its Grooming and

Trail Maintenance Supervisor at Belleayre Mountain. Under the direction of the Operations

Manager, this position is responsible for the grooming and maintenance of all trails and trail

related structures, markers, and signage at Belleayre Mountain. The successful candidate will

bring knowledge, experience and enthusiasm as they work with a goal-oriented team to help

provide a superior and safe guest experience.

Belleayre Mountain, located in the heart of the Catskills, is home to New York State’s first chair

lift. Skiers and riders from the New York and Tri-State areas have access to 1,404 feet of vertical

drop where they can enjoy 63 alpine trails and 9.2 kilometers of cross-country ski trails. Recent

improvements include a gondola and a quad chairlift with conveyor. This summer will see the

installation of another quad lift and additional investment in snow making equipment. Future

improvement plans include additional lodge expansion and renovations, new lifts, and

snowmaking upgrades.

Work is performed on-site and outside at Belleayre Mountain in all weather conditions. Weekend

and Holiday work will be required as will work outside the normal workday as is necessary to

fulfill obligations. Occasional travel may be required.

Essential Duties:

 Supervising winter grooming operations and general trail maintenance

 Overseeing crews responsible for grooming, construction, operation, and maintenance of

various trails

 Providing status reports

 Create staffing schedules and daily assignments

 Ensuring staff are properly trained

 Attending operations and planning meetings

 Providing executional and maintenance support to the trail maintenance department

 Race and event support; and interacting with clients, partners, and guests.

Minimum Qualifications

 3+ years of experience in trail grooming.

 1+ years of supervisory experience

 Passion and professional skills in trail grooming and trail maintenance.

 Valid NYS driver license.

Wage/Salary:

This position is classified as a Grade 19 on the CSEA/Olympic Authority’s Hourly

Compensation Schedule, which carries an Entry rate of $31.83 per hour. The Olympic Authority

offers an excellent benefits package per the CSEA contract that includes paid leave (sick,

vacation, and personal time), paid holidays, health, dental, and vision coverage, participation in

the NYS and Local Retirement System, and optional participation in the NYS Deferred

Compensation Plan.
