Registered Nurse (RN) – Med SurgThe Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. This role involves monitoring patient status, administering medications, and responding to emergency situations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.The RN will follow clinical standards, ensure patient safety, and provide education to patients and families.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical Excellence• Develop and document patient care plans within required timelines • Perform patient interventions with age-specific competency • Provide comprehensive nursing care in Med Surg settingsClinical Monitoring & Intervention• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes • Provide appropriate treatment in emergency situations • Administer medications and IV therapy as per protocols • Monitor for adverse drug reactionsCare Coordination• Verify physician orders, medications, and procedures • Coordinate diagnostic tests and treatment plans • Ensure accurate documentation and complianceCompliance & Patient Safety• Follow hospital protocols and safety standards • Maintain compliance with medication administration guidelines • Ensure proper patient identification and documentationMust-Have Qualifications• Associate Degree in Nursing (Required) • Active RN License (South Carolina or Compact State) • BLS Certification (AHA – Required) • Basic Rhythm Certification (within orientation) • Strong clinical and patient care skillsPreferred Qualifications• Experience in Med Surg / Acute Care • Experience in hospital-based settings • Strong patient care and multitasking skillsCore Competencies• Critical thinking and clinical judgment • Strong communication skills • Patient-centered care • Ability to work in fast-paced environments • Team collaborationWork Environment• Medical / Surgical Unit • Hospital-based acute care setting • Moderate to high patient acuity
