Certified Pharmacy Technician

As a certified pharmacy technician, prepares, compounds, and dispenses medical orders/prescriptions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Essential Job Functions May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. May be required to assist pharmacist in retail and/or hospital pharmacy. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Verifies stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory record. Communicates effectively with customers. Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Performs other related duties as assigned. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function. Competent to meet age‑specific needs of the patients served. Follows hospital exposure control plans, blood‑borne and airborne pathogens. Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.
