Job Overview At the front line of the Safelite experience, the Auto Glass Technician is an entrepreneurial, hands‑on professional that leverages Safelite training, industry‑leading tools, and technology to complete repairs, replacements, and recalibrations in the shop and on the go with our Mobile Glass Shop offerings. Responsibilities Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop in the most efficient manner, focusing on safety, quality and exceptional customer service, and clean customer vehicles after every job. Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and completing diagnostic testing. Proficiently operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, including True Seal®, Ezi‑Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals as required by the “Safelite Way of Fitting,” and work order and customer administration systems, and Safelite’s handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology. Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday. Communicate with all scheduled customers in person, via text, and on the phone; present, promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services to customers. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Benefits and Compensation Earn $5 per set of wiper blades added for customer safety. Technician career levels determined based on performance metrics demonstrating efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Benefits package valued at more than $10k. Includes 401(k) plan with company matching, medical plans, paid time off, holidays & volunteer days. Program to buy additional PTO or sell unused time up to 16 hours. Up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement. Paid training and all the tools and resources needed to be successful. Base pay range: $25.25 - $33.50 per hour. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred. Valid state‑issued driver’s license capable of operating a company vehicle. Safelite SafeTech™ certification required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Physical ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds; stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body; use hand tools and power tools safely. Ability to work outside in a wide variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods. Ability to work with chemicals (including flammable chemicals) as applicable per the “Safelite Way of Fitting.” Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and under monitoring via in‑cab vehicle safety camera / video surveillance technology, GPS, and other tracking technologies. Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and troubleshoot issues. Problem‑solving and ability to troubleshoot issues independently and collaboratively. Ability to read, write, and interpret the English language and technical directions. Ability to communicate orally (via phone) and written (via computer or other electronic means). Ability to maintain a professional appearance, adhering to company uniform and PPE policies.
