Be a part of the Insight Chicago team that provides patient care second to none!/ppThe Interventional Radiology Technologist will:/pulliPerform IR procedures with minimal assistance which requires knowledge of anatomical positioning and physiology so that independent selection or modification of technical factors will produce optimum results./liliPosition and transfer of patients on/off scan table, utilize immobilization devices as necessary./liliProvides training to new staff and completes required competencies./liliMaintain cleanliness and orderliness within the department adhering to Joint Commission, IDPH, and Infection Control./liliProvide On-Call coverage as needed./liliAble to proficiently navigate RIS, PACS, and EMR/liliVerify all performed exams on PACS./liliCapture pertinent documentation for each patient as required by the department./liliResponsible for reporting equipment failure to the supervisor and making the initial call for service./liliAttend departmental staff meetings./liliUtilize the departments resources to enhance your technical abilities./liliAdhere to all HIPPA regulations concerning patient privacy./liliScreen patients according to departmental policies and current safety standards. Must use two patient identifiers to identify patients as required by hospital policy before starting and procedure. Effectively and thoroughly access patients needed for IR safety./liliComplete any incomplete work list items at the end of the shift and perform the appropriate follow-up and/or communications for complete reconciliation./liliCapture the correct technical charges for each exam performed./liliWork as a team member to maintain an on time patient schedule./liliEffectively communicate with coworkers./liliPerform other related duties as assigned./liliComplete Net Learning within the appropriate time frame./li/ulpRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:/pulliA High School diploma is required. Satisfactory completion of an American Medical Association Council on Medical Education approved School of Radiologic Technology is required. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology preferred. Licensed by the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety required./liliExtreme accuracy and care are needed to determine exposure time and correct positioning of the patient./liliAbility to deal effectively with patients, physicians, hospital personnel, and co-workers. Ability to effectively position patients for the best results and to adapt techniques for each patient. Extreme accuracy and care is needed to determine exposure time and correct positioning. Must be able to work cooperatively with others and also be able to work under pressure at times.
