Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Job

We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Bangor, ME where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The role is critical to a protocol-driven critical care team serving adult and specialty critical care units.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state respiratory therapist license in good standing.
• Must be an RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist). Manager may consider CRT candidates with extensive experience upon approval.
• Minimum 2+ years experience as a Respiratory Therapist; critical care experience preferred.
• BLS required for adult-only RT roles. NRP required for NICU/PICU/Peds roles. PALS preferred for NICU/PICU/Peds.
• Experience with airway and ventilator management, ABG puncture and analysis, non-invasive ventilation, code blue/rapid response, and inhaled medication administration.
• Experience with ventilators and equipment such as Servo U/Servo I, Hamilton T1, Trilogy, V60/V30, EV300. Familiarity with Oscillator 3100 Sensormatic, Drager ventilators, and Vero Biotech nitric delivery is helpful.
• Cerner charting experience preferred.
• Will accept first-time travelers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous NICU/PICU and pediatric experience when position is posted for those areas. Candidates must be comfortable working with adults if cross-coverage to NICU/PICU/Peds is required.
• Experience in Level II trauma, cardiac critical care, or multiple adult ICU environments.

Assignment Details

• Shift pattern listed as Flex Shifts 0600-1900.
• Floating required to other trained units only.
• Orientation includes 1 general orientation shift with RT Educator and approximately 1 shift per unit trained to (generally 4-5 shifts).
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend.
• Voluntary on-call: 2 hours before shift start time and 2 hours after, as needed.
