Supply Chain - Sr. Materials HandlerCedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors in April 2025 as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years! Integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this enhanced integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. Our advanced hospital will offer 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain - Sr. Materials Handler (Full-Time, Day/Night). The Sr. Materials Handler provides leader-level responsibility for the control of stock supplies inventory and in the distribution of materials and equipment received and/or stored in the Supply Chain Department.Job Duties:Performs lead responsibility in the receiving, inspection for damage, match quantities/quality, to purchase order, delivers, and moves materials, i.e., inventory items, equipment, special orders and/or sensitive materials.Serve in a lead role for various initiatives.Assists with the storeroom supervisor and/or manager in maintain the appropriate stock levels without excessive inventory being ordered.Provides replenishment of supplies to the assigned par locations accurately and on a timely basis within the framework of service excellence.Performs the checking of supplies that have been received to confirm the accuracy of the shipment.Places received supplies into their correct storage locations in a timely basis.Receives, inspects for damage match quantities/qualities to purchase order, delivers, and moves materials, i.e., inventory items, equipment, special orders and/or sensitive materials.Demonstrates an understanding of the Materials Management Information System so that data can be entered and retrieved as required to perform the services of the Department.Maintains an orderly storage of supplies that meets JCAHO requirements for the storage of supplies.Performs a variety of clerical tasks that may include answering the phone, filing, copying and doing data entry.Participates in stock rotation, clean-up duties, clean sweep and physical inventory audits.Responds to inquiries about inventory items or problems in a prompt manner.Understands the Materials Distribution System, Hand Held Scanners and supports the proper methodology in supplying materials to departments.Properly disinfects and sterilizes pump equipment as established by infection control guidelines (as needed and/or required).Provides supervision to Materials Handlers in the scheduled absence of the Supervisor or Manager.Performs other duties as assigned/required.Qualifications Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in the distribution of medical supplies preferred.Prior driving delivery and/or medical transport experience preferred.Must have a valid driver's license, and an acceptable driving record from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.EEO Statement: All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
