Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring an active MI license and 2+ years of experience.

Details

• 225-bed specialty care hospital with services including Heart & Vascular, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
• Level 2 trauma center, 6th floor Acute Medical/Surgical unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population, ages 18-125
• Patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1
• Uses telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
• Cerner EHR system
• Night shift schedule, 7PM-7AM
• Rotating weekend hours, every other weekend required
• Occasional floating to like units required

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Bachelor's degree required, BSN preferred
• Prior medical/surgical unit experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work effectively in a stressful, fast-paced environment
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy acute medical/surgical unit
• Scrub color is Galaxy Blue or Navy
• Fingernails must be clean, short, and compliant with hand hygiene policy; tattoos that may be considered offensive must be covered; excessive jewelry not permitted
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
