Specimen Collector Phlebotomist - Pueblo, CO

Job Details Location: Pueblo, CO Job Type: Full Time Pay: $21 per hour Schedule: Variable shift times between 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday Key Responsibilities Collect specimen samples (urine, oral fluid, blood) using proper technique and equipment. Accurately enter laboratory order data into the electronic system. Maintain a clean, orderly, and compliant work environment. Adhere to all state, federal, and company regulations regarding specimen collection. Manage and reorder inventory of supplies per company policy. Assist with direct observation and troubleshooting during specimen collection when required. Provide excellent customer service and maintain compassion towards patients. Complete training and stay current with company policies and industry best practices. Store and handle venipuncture equipment safely and maintain infection control protocols. Required Qualifications Active national certification in phlebotomy (e.g., NHA, ASCP, NCPT). Minimum 6 months of professional experience performing venipuncture/blood draws. Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and successful motor vehicle record check. Knowledge of specimen collection techniques, infection prevention, and medical terminology. Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new technology. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow checklists. Clear communication skills with diverse patient populations. Commitment to HIPAA, OSHA, and state regulations related to specimen collection. Preferred Skills & Knowledge Experience in substance use disorder or pain management care settings. Proficiency with Personal Protective Equipment best practices. Ability to troubleshoot missing information and complete billing procedures.
