Asset Protection Security Specialist (HR)

Responsibilities Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short, civil liabilities and shrink; improve margins. Demonstrate the company\'s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. Identify areas of high theft, monitor large shrink areas in stores and report incidents to the asset protection manager. Detect, deter and/or detain external theft suspects; initiate and encourage actions to prevent external and internal theft. Maintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime and weekends on a regular basis. Provide credible court testimony when required and assist customer and associate relations through communication and training. Verify compliance with corporate policies and promote company initiatives. Assist in reducing customer and associate dishonesty by enforcing loss prevention measures. Record and report incidents accurately and follow up as needed with the asset protection team. Support the safety and well-being of associates by adhering to safety policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in criminal justice (preferred) or relevant education/experience; or a combination of education and experience. Retail security experience and/or law enforcement experience; familiarity with loss prevention terms and processes. High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience); minimum 18 years of age (21 years in Alaska). Ability to pass a drug test and to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality; strong organizational and prioritization skills. Proficient Microsoft Office skills. Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure. Model customer-first behavior and deliver excellent customer service; ability to train others.
