Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

This position is for a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is responsible for delivering safe patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the scope of practice and guiding patient and family education, as well as directing the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the emergency setting. The RN will communicate effectively with the physician regarding any changes in a patient's clinical condition, including monitoring hemodynamic status, reviewing diagnostic study results, and identifying abnormal findings. This position demands quick and accurate responses to changes in patient condition or responses to treatment while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

• Deliver safe, effective patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care while supervising and guiding nursing personnel.
• Communicate changes in patient's clinical conditions to physicians.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred; RN-C certification within 2 years of hire preferred.
• PALS certification within 30 days of hire for units that admit pediatric patients.
• NIHSS certificate required.
