Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Summary:
Provide specialized psychiatric care to geriatric patients in an acute behavioral health setting. Ensure the safety, assessment, and management of patients experiencing mental health crises within a short-term hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses in accordance with treatment plans.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, document clinical observations, and update care plans regularly.
• Manage the milieu by maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment for geriatric psychiatric patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care strategies.
• Respond effectively to patient emergencies, ensuring immediate safety and intervention.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory, certification, and facility-specific requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold a permanent Ohio or Compact license at the time of submission.
• Have a minimum of 12 months of behavioral health experience in a short-term acute care hospital.
• Be certified in BLS through AHA or American Red Cross, active and in hand at time of submission.
• Demonstrate proficiency in milieu management, medication administration, and psychiatric assessments.
• Provide a recent reference from a supervisor or manager within the last 12 months in the specialty.
• Successfully pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation.
