Salary: $8,225.45 - $11,024.04 Monthly Location : City Hall - The Beaverton Building, OR Job Type: Full time Job Number: FY26/27-01200 Department: Community Development Department Division: CDD Economic Development Opening Date: 10/19/2026 Closing Date: 11/15/2026 11:59 PM Pacific The Position The City of Beaverton's Economic Development Division is hiring a Business Development Manager to lead relationship building with employers, support business retention and expansion, recruit new companies to Beaverton, and deliver projects and programs that strengthen the community's long term economic vitality. The ideal candidate has meaningful private sector experience and an appreciation for the role of government in shaping a thriving business environment. Prior experience in the public sector is not required. What you will do: Meet with business owners and representatives to build constructive relationships and assist with business needs and concerns. Help businesses to establish, expand, and/or retain their operations in the City. Work collaboratively with a broad range of partners, including industry groups, community groups, and service organizations. Serve as the city's ombudsman, helping businesses navigate public sector regulations and programs. Assist in developing and implementing new economic development programs and initiatives. Assess market opportunities and craft targeted marketing insights that help position Beaverton competitively. Engage other city departments and leadership on business and economic trends and conditions, and represent the business perspective in city government conversations. Qualifications Minimum qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field; and Five years of experience in business management, community development, or real estate, including Experience working in the private sector for a traded-sector business, and Responsibility for business profit and loss metrics; or An equivalent combination of education and experience enabling the incumbent to perform the essential functions of the position. Licensing and special requirements Valid driver's license and ability to meet the city's driving standards. Compensation Wage range : $8,225.45 - $11,024.04 monthly Starting pay within the posted range is based on a review of your related work experience, as required by the Oregon Equal Pay Act.
