Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist

Our organization, situated in Sylva, NC, is on the lookout for a committed Respiratory Therapist to become a part of our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this position, you will provide exceptional and compassionate respiratory care to patients of various ages and health conditions within an acute care hospital environment.

• Conduct thorough respiratory assessments and collaborate with physicians and nurses to create and implement care plans.
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and various respiratory treatments.
• Manage and monitor ventilators and other respiratory support devices.
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation to inform clinical decisions.
• Engage in airway management, including suctioning and emergency interventions for patients experiencing respiratory distress.
• Respond swiftly to rapid response and code situations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Adhere to infection control protocols, patient safety measures, and hospital quality standards.
• Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, equipment usage, and home-care instructions to ensure safe transitions of care.
• Contribute to a respectful and collaborative work environment, working alongside colleagues to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
