AM Shift: 07:00 – 19:30, 3 × 12 hr shifts, 36 hrs/week.

Job Description

The Interim Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) will provide essential care for patients within the Float Pool, including those in Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU settings. The expected patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2, although it may vary to a maximum of 3:1 depending on unit and patient needs. IMCU nurses will float only between IMCU and step-down units, with no assignments to Med-Surg units.

Responsibilities

• Assess, implement, and evaluate patient care under the direction of licensed physicians.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide individualized care.
• Direct nursing support staff in delivering patient care according to nursing standards.
• Monitor patients with IMCU-appropriate diagnoses and conditions.
• Ensuring adherence to protocols and guidelines for patient management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a clinical specialty, including at least 2 years in general nursing.
• Current registered nurse license for PA or MSL Compact is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required; additional certifications may be needed based on the specialty area.
