Tax Accountant

Job Title: Tax Accountant Location: Newcomerstown, OH Salary: $90,000 -$110,000 Benefits: Bonus structure, PTO, Parental Leave, Comprehensive Health Benefits About The Company Our client is a well-established organization seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to support a growing, multi-entity operation. This position offers broad exposure across corporate income tax, ASC 740, state tax compliance, sales and use tax, and tax planning while working closely with Finance leadership and external tax advisors. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional coming from public accounting or corporate tax who wants to take greater ownership of the tax function while gaining exposure to multiple entities and jurisdictions. Why This Opportunity Stands Out (Tax Accountant) Broad tax exposure across ASC 740, federal and state income tax, sales and use tax, and multi-state nexus Work closely with senior Finance leadership and external tax advisors Opportunity to take ownership of quarterly and annual tax provision reporting Exposure to tax planning, compliance improvements, and process automation $90K–$110K base salary + up to 10% bonus potential Key Responsibilities (Tax Accountant) Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including deferred tax assets and liabilities Analyze book-to-tax differences and prepare supporting schedules, journal entries, reconciliations, and tax-related financial statement disclosures Coordinate with external tax advisors on federal and state income tax returns, estimated payments, and other compliance requirements Gather and validate financial information needed for tax filings and review completed returns for accuracy Monitor business activity for state tax nexus and manage registrations and filing requirements as operations expand Support compliance with state income, franchise, gross receipts, and other applicable taxes Review sales and use tax activity across multiple operating entities and identify potential compliance risks Preferred Qualifications (Tax Accountant) Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3–7 years of tax experience within corporate accounting, public accounting, or a related environment Hands-on experience with ASC 740, tax provisions, and deferred tax accounting Strong understanding of federal and multi-state tax compliance
