Autism Support & Independence Advocate (Part-Time)

Benhaven is looking for Direct Support Professionals to work for our Individual & Family Supports assisting individuals with autism in their homes and the community. We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic applicants to provide support to our individuals. Available positions listed below Hamden/North Haven Part-Time: (23.5 hours) Mon & Tues 3p-9:30p; Saturday 8a-6:30p Hamden/North Haven Part-Time: (11 hours) Thursday 3p-8p & Sunday 9a-3p Responsibilities The following duties are assigned to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Encourage building skills for independence Encourage and assist in increasing socialization Encourage and assist individuals with the pursuit of vocational opportunities Assist and provide opportunities for individuals to participate in recreational activities Experience & Requirements Must have experience working with individuals with autism. Mustbe able to pass a variety of background checks. Musthave a CT driver's license. Applicant must have a registered and insured vehicle that can pass a safety inspection. Will train in PMT (physical management training) and CPR, if not already certified.
